Hello everybody! My name is Heidi Deary and I am 19 years old. I am majoring in speech pathology and this is my last semester here at GCC, I'm transferring to ASU for Fall 2015. I enjoy spending time with my family, going to the movies, running, shopping, eating..I could go on for hours! I also like to watch hockey and football-GO PATRIOTS! As of right now, I am learning to play the piano and with a few songs under my belt, I'm a rising Beethoven!
I speak English but I am taking Spanish right now, hopefully to be bilingual in the future. I am taking ENG 213 to finish up the classes I need to graduate from GCC and also to receive a language certificate. I have many experiences with language and language learning. My dad owns a company and many of his employees are bilingual. When I visit, I have the opportunity to speak Spanish to them...it doesn't turn out too well all the time because they speak so fast and once they say a word I don't know, I'm lost! A few members of my family also speak Spanish so I am able to practice with them. I also take a Spanish class so I am submerged in the language for an hour and fifteen minutes.
I am definitely looking forward to this class and what it has in store.
ADIOS AMIGOS!
Nice to meet you. Keep up the practice, you will fail but you wont get any worse. So many more people appreciate the effort than notice the failure. I know I do. :)
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to learn to play piano, but I am terrible at remembering all the keys. Spanish will get easier the more you practice, it's good that you are surrounded by it. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteHola. Me llamo Mateo. Y tu? (idk how to make upside down question marks so...)
ReplyDeleteAs for transferring to ASU, are you planning to stay in dorms or moving to an apartment near the campus? Additionally, what is your dream job?
Also, I obviously already know your name but that is basically the only thing I know how to say in Spanish soooo.... -u-"
DeleteThat Spanish was pretty good, could've fooled me! I plan on living where I live now and driving to and from. I'll need to invest in some good cds so I can jam out on the way there, not Ed Sheeran though...that's not jamming music.. haha
DeleteMy dream job is to be a speech therapist for children. I want to work at a school first and then work with children maybe 5 and under doing at home therapy. That's the plan man! Do you have a job in mind that you would like to do once you get to Japan?
I have tried teaching myself the piano. It worked for a little bit then I slowly stopped for whatever reason.
ReplyDeleteI am also trying to transfer to ASU in the Fall as well. I am looking forward to it.
Its nice to meet you.
